Wednesday Nite @ The Lab

"Imaging Live Cells Under Viral Attack" by Prof. Nathan Sherer, Molecular Virology and Oncology

Event Details

Date
Wednesday, August 3, 2016
Time
7 p.m.
Description
In the U.S., greater than 1 million people are currently living with HIV-1. There is no vaccine or cure, so that a clearer understanding of how HIV-1 infects human cells and spreads infection is needed to inform the development of novel antiviral therapeutic strategies. In this talk, Prof. Sherer will discuss how advances in live cell imaging technologies now allow us to make striking live action movies of HIV-1 and other viruses attacking cells and forcing them to do their bidding.
