Description
Parkinson Disease (PD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder. This talk will explore the hypothesis that PD is a disease similar to Mad Cow in that protein aggregates could enter through the gut and ascend into the brain via peripheral nerves, with focus on evidence from human patients with PD as well as animal models. If PD begins outside of the brain, is there then a way to stop it before it begins?
