Description
Need something to do to unwind after a busy week? Wondering how you could meet new people from different walks of life on campus? Join us at Afternoon Conversation Series (ACS) for an interesting conversation!ACS is a facilitated weekly experience put on by WUD Global Connections where you can engage in friendly conversations over different interactive themes presented each week. This week our topic of discussion will be "Hearts, not Parts: Evolving Sexuality in 21st century" with Professor Brigitte Fielder. Love in the 21st century is becoming an increasingly globalized affair. With Tinder and Grindr, people are exploring new areas of sex and sexuality. The role of women in society has changed a lot from a few centuries ago but have the attitudes changed along with them? Despite all the developments, the United States still remains one of the only three countries in the world without any paid maternity leave. How far have we come in addressing the issues related to gender and society? Why are some societies more okay with an idea than the other? How does race and sexuality intersect each other?Come and join us for a relaxing Friday afternoon and make new friends. FREE Refreshments are served on a first-come, first-served basis each week—come early to ensure your treat! Our events are open to UW students, faculty and staff as well as Union members and their guests.
