Tailor-made macromolecules provide a platform to generate nanostructured, multifunctional materials with exclusive chemical and optoelectronic functionalities. The nature of functional polymers allows for device fabrication procedures that are compatible with high-throughput manufacturing processes which offers the promise of low-cost solutions to some polymer and soft materials challenges. We will discuss two distinct classes of functional polymers with tuned chemistries for implementation.
