Join us at Afternoon Conversation Series (ACS) for an interesting conversation! ACS is a facilitated weekly experience put on by WUD Global Connections where you can engage in friendly conversations over different interactive themes presented each week. This week our topic of discussion will be "To be or not to be legal"Many countries in Europe validate and regulate prostitution. In other countries such as Turkey and India, prostitution is a legal occupation. Why are some societies more okay with the world’s oldest profession - prostitution? Does it help a country to legalize prostitution? Do individual rights also mean rights to engage in polyamorous or monetary sexual relationships? To what extent should the government be controlling our private life? Should drugs be legal or a criminal offense? Join us in conversation with Prof. Melanie J Murchison as we explore what the consequences of legalizing certain behaviors are.Come and join us for a relaxing Friday afternoon and make new friends. FREE Refreshments are served on a first-come, first-served basis each week—come early to ensure your treat! Our events are open to UW students, faculty and staff as well as Union members and their guests. To learn more about ACS or Global Connections in general, check out our website! https://union.wisc.edu/get-involved/wud/global-connections/
