Join us at Afternoon Conversation Series (ACS) for an interesting conversation! ACS is a facilitated weekly experience put on by WUD Global Connections where you can engage in friendly conversations over different interactive themes presented each week. This week our topic of discussion will be "Educating Our Future".Globally, education is seen as one of the most important investments a society should make. While it is widely seen as a basic human right, education even at primary level remains inaccessible to a lot of people. Why do some countries fail to make education equally accessible and affordable? Can the systems that work in Finland be used in the US? Is private education the way to go forward in advanced economies? Are the recent Chancellor’s move to offer one year tuition free college to first generation students and ASM’s resolution to offer cost free education to Black students a step towards more accessible education for all? Join us in conversation with Prof. Michael Apple this Friday as we education both in UW itself and throughout the world. Come and join us for a relaxing Friday afternoon and make new friends. FREE Refreshments are served on a first-come, first-served basis each week—come early to ensure your treat! Our events are open to UW students, faculty and staff as well as Union members and their guests.
