Description
Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) significantly contributes to the neuroinflammatory response to ischemic brain injury. Increased COX-2 activity leads to overproduction of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which alters the permeability of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) after ischemia. In this talk, we present new evidence of the role of different PGE2 receptors in BBB opening following ischemic stroke
