Description
The duo of Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas blends Scottish tradition with cutting-edge string explorations. Their full-spectrum repertoire ranges from intimate chamber music to energetic dance; their lively and unexpected performances are celebrated internationally, with The Scotsman calling them "A positive joy." Dubbed "the Michael Jordan of Scottish fiddling" by the San Francisco Examiner, Alasdair Fraser has curated a recording and performance career of over thirty years. He has been honored with many accolades, such as a place in the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame. His projects include a feature on the Titanic soundtrack and countless performances sponsored by the British and California Arts Councils. Californian Natalie Haas is one of the most popular cellists performing today. A graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, she has collaborated with such fiddlers as Mark O'Connor, Natalie MacMaster, and Celtic supergroup Solas. Her and Fraser's unlikely partnership debut recording won the Scots Trad Music's "Album of the Year" award. More information on Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas can be found on their website .
