Description
This talk by ANTHROPOLOGY PROFESSOR FREDERICK H. DAMON (U Virginia) analyzes the structural integrity and imagery of the Indo-Pacific region’s highest class of outrigger canoes by means of a fundamental pattern in Chinese thought. That form concerns the ways by which conceived relationships between Heaven and Earth order society. Professor Damon is author of TREES, KNOTS AND OUTRIGGERS, from which this talk is drawn. Generously co-sponsored by CALS and SOHE.
