Description
USA | 82min | PG | DCP | Dir. Joshua Z Weinstein Within Brooklyn's ultra-orthodox Jewish community, a widower battles for custody of his son. A tender drama performed entirely in Yiddish, the film intimately explores the nature of faith and the price of parenthood. " Weinstein brings a palpable authenticity (attributable in part to a cast made up of local non-actors) to this universally resonant story, rendering it unique and specific in a meticulously detailed setting." - Peter Keough (Boston Globe) The  Hyphenated-Americans Film Festival  will feature 11 films about Americans with intersecting identities informing their unique experiences of being American. The films will highlight that being American is being a hyphenated-American. This film festival is a response to the current political moment and celebrates the diversity vital to the American experience. This festival has films ranging from documentaries and dramas to a comedy special. This event is intended for UW-Madison students, faculty, staff and Union members and guests.
