Institute for Research on Poverty Webinar - Robin Ghertner and Annette Waters

Robin Ghertner and Annette Waters of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, U.S. DHHS, will present results from a study demonstrating a relationship between county-level indicators of substance use and opioid misuse prevalence, and child welfare indicators. They will also discuss the specific mechanisms by which parental substance use has led to the rise in caseloads, and unique challenges the current opioid epidemic is presenting to child welfare systems.
