Description
Gama's live work is a new composition written for Acrux (inspired by the Southern Cross) and Toha (taking its shape from the weaver bird nest of Southern Angola), two contemporary musical instruments from his Pangeia Instrumentos series. Gama (Angola/Portugal) is a composer whose process begins with the creation of an entirely new instrument, one whose design is steeped in symbolic meaning. His new piece “Asia Tanaf” premiered last year at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
