Research shows that low-stakes, or informal, writing assignments can help students generate ideas for formal assignments, read difficult texts, connect new knowledge to prior knowledge, and deepen their thinking about complex concepts. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore a variety of informal writing assignments and activities that you can adapt for your own courses.
