Description
Why, then, are animals marginal actors in social science accounts of pandemics? Why are they largely invisible in critiques of global public health? This paper examines global health as a more than human project. Drawing from research on bird flu management in Vietnam, I describe a novel form of global health that is increasingly structured by the global livestock economy.
