Description
WUD Art presents the final installment of the You Did Such A Cool Thing! Comic Symposium with the Portrait Slam: a Comics Workshop with artist Rachal Duggan! Rachal Duggan (RADillustrates) is an illustrator living in Madison. She spent the last decade living and working in Chicago. Her work is consists of accessible and whimsical line drawings. Rachal draws from daily life observations, current events, personal experiences and pop culture. Each line has a purpose and invites the viewer to join in on the joke rather than ask the viewer to contemplate its meaning. Rachal regularly participates in art shows, live-drawing sessions, selling events and illustration workshops. She was the Madison Public Library’s artist-in-residence for January/February 2018. Visit her website for more insight on her work:  http://www.rachalduggan.com/ The Portrait Slam will be in Union South (room TBA according to the TITU) on Friday, May 4th from 4-6pm. This workshop is centered on illustrating faces. We will examine famous faces as well as use each other as models to examine the complexity and subtlety of the human face. There is a 20 person cap on this event - sign-up slots are now open!
