First-Year Seminar Series: What's HIP? Introducing Students to High-Impact Practices

What are High-Impact Practices (HIPs) and why do they matter for college students? This workshop will introduce workshop participants to the characteristics of HIPs and the wide variety of HIPs available to students on this campus, especially focusing on the elements of first-year seminars that are "high-impact." During this session, participants will model how to talk with first-year students about making a plan to engage in different HIPs during their time on campus.
