There is currently substantial excitement regarding the utility of neuroimaging (particularly fMRI) for decoding of mental states and prediction of future behavior. I will discuss the current state and future prospects of neuroprediction, with a particular focus on the need for methods that provide accurate generalization to new contexts and individuals.
