Isthmus Brass Quintet & Percussion

The Isthmus Brass Quintet & Percussion is a subsidiary of a larger, 12-piece ensemble brought in for more intimate venues. SInce their inception in 2009, Isthmus Brass has been invested in giving back to the community, throwing regular Christmas benefit concerts for various local charities. One of the truly versatile groups in the world of contemporary classical music, Isthmus Brass can shift from a somber rendition of a Bach concerto to a rousing—even danceable—jazz standard, bridging over 200 years of musical history without so much as batting an eye. In keeping with their spirit of community outreach, the Isthmus Brass Quintet & Percussion will be hosting a meet-and-greet before their set at Alumni Park, from 4:00 to 4:30. Attendees will be given the chance to eat and interact with the band. Order your picnic basket today ! Returning for the second year in a row, the quintet and percussion outfit will be performing at the Summer Serenades concert series, which will be running at 5:00pm every other Sunday from July 1 to August 26. Set on the Terrace, this program provides Madison residents the rare opportunity to enjoy free classical music in a casual, open air setting, making it the ideal home for the Isthmus Brass Quintet & Percussion’s full and bustling sound.
