When Mario gets a job as a postman, his life begins to change for the better. Mario rides his bicycle across his beautiful island home each day to deliver many a package to Pablo Neruda, renowned Chilean poet. As a friendship develops between the postman and the exiled poet, Mario learns the language of love and works up the courage to express his feelings for the beautiful Beatrice.
