The question of scale has always been central to island studies, whether through relational forces or the prominent positioning of island studies, within the Anthropocene. In the annual Nellie Y. McKay Lecture in the Humanities, Michelle Stephens explores the ways in which we're rethinking the scale of islands today.

Michelle Stephens is a Professor of English and Latino and Caribbean Studies and Dean of the Humanities at Rutgers University.
