In lieu of Cineteca, please join us on 4/23 for the Italian Film Festival screening of Edoardo De Angelis’ “Il vizio della speranza” (2018) free of charge. De Angelis’ film follows the conflicted Maria, as she works tirelessly for a Madam in a lawless town to the North of Naples, ferrying young pregnant women across the river Volturno. When Maria herself becomes pregnant, the force of her maternal love comes in conflict with her work as a trafficker and Maria begins to hope for a better life.
