Migrant health depends on many factors, and poor living conditions, psychological stress, trauma and limited access to medical care can especially impact well-being. Michael Knipper, a member of the UCL-Lancet Commission on Migration and Health, discusses the structural, legal and political factors that affect migrant health through a lens of commitment to human rights. Knipper is a physician, medical historian and anthropologist, at the University Justus Liebig in Germany.
