The Roles of Lakes and Reservoirs in the Global Carbon Cycle

Event Details

Date
Tuesday, April 16, 2019
Time
9:30-10:30 a.m.
Description
Although lakes and reservoirs occupy a small proportion of the terrestrial biosphere, they play disproportionately important roles in processing, storing, and emitting carbon back to the atmosphere. Here, I will focus on organic carbon in lakes and reservoirs and describe how uncertainties in lake carbon cycling at the global scale inspire more mechanistic work locally.
