A NYC-based photo-journalist (Clayburgh), accompanied by her teenage daughter (Plimpton), travels to the most remote corner of the Louisiana bayous to research a magazine story about her distant relatives. Konchalovsky’s follow-up to Runaway Train for Cannon Group explores the dramatic tensions that develop between the stern Southern matriarch and her visiting urban cousins.
