Modeling Microgrids with Micronuclear

Jessica Lovering will discuss microreactors (less than 10MWe) offer new opportunities for distributed, off-grid applications for nuclear power, yet there is significant uncertainty around how this new technology would actually be deployed. Jessica will discuss her work on the economic challenges of microreactors. She has been modeling case studies of potential early-adopters of very small modular reactors and will present her results for microgrids in arctic, diesel-dependent communities.
