Dr. Nygard will present his ongoing research utilizing UNESCO's "Intercultural Competences Tree" and its application to archaeological materials ranging from elite goods such as the Maya Oval Palace Tablet from Palenque to 19th century garbage deposits from the town of Ripon, Wisconsin. This talk will include a physical display of artifacts from Ripon College and a brainstorming session on how to analyze archaeological material moving forward.
