Description
Anthropologist Brett Walker places the Fukushima disaster in historical context, exploring past pollution events in Japan to demonstrate the causal webs at work in Japan’s highly engineered archipelago. He argues that our bodies have become penetrated, engulfed and transformed at the molecular level by the engineering, industrializing, and poisoning of the environment. Fukushima will be another tragic chapter in the story of our destructive relationship to the natural world.
