Weather extremes have been making news headlines lately, leading many to wonder if they are becoming more common and possibly driven by global climate change. 2012 has been an exceptional year for weird weather around Wisconsin and the Midwest, featuring a very mild winter followed by an absurdly warm March and then record drought and heat. My presentation will describe historical and projected trends in extreme weather events and their possible relationship to the changing global climate.
