Weston Roundtable — Casey Brown

Lake Regulation, Climate Change and Residual Climate Risks on the Upper Great Lakes

Event Details

Date
Thursday, November 15, 2012
Time
4:15 p.m.
Description
Water resources are vulnerable to climate change. In risk analysis for management, we ask stakeholders which conditions require substantial investment. A systems model relates changes in climate to performance metrics. Impacts are assessed through GCM simulations and stochastic analysis. Irreducible uncertainty of climate projections is addressed through regulation, management and consideration of residual risks. Implementation in the International Upper Great Lakes Study is described.
