A talk by Jaclyn Michael
Thursday, October 03, 2013
206 Ingraham Hall
Jaclyn Michael, a PhD student in the Dept of Languages and Cultures of Asia, will deliver a lecture on the performing arts in Delhi as influenced by Muslim culture. Popular Urdu language staged performances offer a way in which we can think about social and religious life, history, and the cultural politics of language in Delhi today. Her talk will address these issues in a discussion of recently performed plays and interviews with producers and audiences that she conducted in Delhi this summer.
