Featuring composer-in-residence Cecilia McDowall’s Seventy Degrees Below Zero, a work for voice and orchestra based on Robert Falcon Scott’s last letters home from the Antarctic. The pre-concert lecture will feature McDowall and UW scientists who work with IceCube, a subatomic particle detector located at the South Pole.
