UW Dance Department Friday Forum

Performing Ourselves is a dance outreach project based in Madison, WI, supported by the Ira & Ineva Reilly Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment and the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The program combines dance education, dance/movement therapy principles and performance to empower low-income girls in the areas of embodiment, self-concept and resiliency. Performing Ourselves began with a pilot program in 2011 and continues to grow in numbers and scope each year.
