Description
Capoeira is a combination of martial arts, dance and music, originating from African slaves in Brazil during the 16th century. In practice, members arrange in a circle (called a roda), play instruments and sing songs while two people play capoeira in the center of the roda. The batizado is a long-held tradition of capoeira groups across the world in which new members are initiated into the group and many older members receive promotions.
