Weston Roundtable: Qunying Huang

Cyberinfrastructure for Environmental Studies

Event Details

Date
Thursday, October 23, 2014
Time
4:15-5:15 p.m.
Description
Computing large scale simulations is important in Environmental Science; different strategies are needed. To validate climate change models requires millions of runs to find the best configuration; each may take months. The challenge is to supply such massive computing power. Short-term and regional event forecasts also create computational challenges to provide timely forecasts. This talk will present cyberinfrastucture–enabled solutions to address such challenges for environmental studies.
