LACIS Lunchtime Lecture Series: Marylen Serna Salinas

Marylen Serna Salinas, the Co-founder and Coordinator of the Movimiento Campesino de Cajibio, is a spokeswoman for the Congreso de los Pueblos, a social and political movement in Colombia which opposes mining and extractive policies which displace people from their lands.
Marylen will discuss the plight of the campesinos in Colombia and describe how the organizations she represents are seeking to change the Colombian government’s policies to benefit small-scale farmers and their communities.
