Description
In oxide perovskites, attaining, retaining and manipulating polar order is paramount to advancing current and future technologies. However, realizing new materials that possess other attractive properties without loss of polar character has been challenging, even elusive. I will present and discuss several examples from our work where combining polar character with other properties in new oxides and at oxide interfaces and surfaces enables new functionalities.
