Chaos and Complex Systems Seminar
Towards understanding IceCube high energy neutrinos
Event Details
Date
Tuesday, April 21, 2015
Time
12-1 p.m.
Location
4274 Chamberlin Hall
Description
Yang Bai, UW Department of Physics, will discuss high energy neutrinos in the 30 TeV to 2 PeV range recently observed in the IceCube collaboration. The flux is much above the atmospheric neutrino background and requires new sources to explain its origin; decaying dark matter and point-like sources, in particular, will be discussed.
