Description
Jacob Kushner, LACIS alum/award-winning journalist. From Haiti’s present-day gold rush to its tourism aspirations and post-earthquake development, Jacob will give perspective into Haiti’s past, present and future with a focus on the US’s role in shaping them. He’ll also discuss why one ultra-conservative Dominican family is succeeding at persuading the government and its people to legally eradicate 230,000 Dominicans of Haitian heritage from Dominican society and plunge them into statelessness.
