Presented by Carlos Arenas, Consultant at Displacement Solutions. As a result of extreme weather-related events associated with “La Niña” phenomenon, during 2010 & 2011, Colombia suffered the worst flooding & mudslides in recorded history. Carlos will discuss the climate displacement & relocation of approx 3000 residents of the municipality of Gramalote who were displaced after heavy rains caused a mudslide that resulted in a slow but major mass movement process, which destroyed the entire town.
