Biosensing and Flexible Electronics

Event Details

Date
Thursday, October 8, 2015
Time
4-5 p.m.
Description
We have developed nanobiosensors for detecting a variety of analytes mostly focused on ensuring food safety and quality. These include detecting foodborne pathogens, toxins, heavy metals etc. We emphasize developing these biosensors suitable for on-site use by untrained individuals. Thus we take advantage of visual color change occurring when nanoparticles aggregate due to the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) phenomenon.
