Description
The Bad Plus is a trio of creative jazz musicians who enjoy exploring music that builds on jazz and keeps their sound unique. After 20 years of playing together, The Bad Plus added Saxophonist Joshua Redman for their performances and 11th album. Redman "is the long-lost fourth member of the group, just waiting to be snapped snuggly into place," according to Albany's Metroland. Redman, son of legendary saxophonist Dewey Redman, began playing saxophone at the age of 10. He found himself in the New York jazz scene after college, winning the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition and earning a Grammy nomination for his first album. The collaboration of The Bad Plus and Joshua Redman has resulted in an album with original compositions and a sound that is different for both, challenging the musicians' individual sounds and creating something new.
