LACIS Lunchtime Lecture: "The Peace Process in Colombia: Transitional Justice's Promise"

We will discuss the provisions of the Peace Agreement between the FARC guerrilas and the Colombian Government and will discuss the functioning of the transitional justice system proposed for implementation of the Peace Agreement. We will point out the positive points of the proposed system, as well as some potential pitfalls. We will also place the FARC demobilization in a historical context, and suggest what it might mean for obtaining a more justice society without political violence.
