Detroit cop Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) witnesses the death of his friend, another cop visiting from California, and follows the killer back to Beverly Hills to stop him. There, Beverly Hills police officers Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and Taggart (John Ashton) keep an eye on Foley. They team up rather reluctantly to help Foley take down the massive drug ring they discover at the center of it all.
