DESCRIPTION:*Note: actual end time may vary.* \n The 93rd Annual Student A
rt Show\, sponsored by the WUD Art Committee\, is the University of Wiscon
sin-Madison's longest-running celebration of student artists and a beloved
campus tradition. It offers all UW-Madison students the opportunity to en
ter their work in a competitive juried exhibition. We received&nbsp\;many
wonderful submissions this year and we are proud to present a diverse body
of work featuring a variety of mediums and perspectives that speak to the
strange times we are currently living in.&nbsp\; We will not be having an
in-person opening celebration but we encourage visitors to tag WUD Art on
social media and to use the hashtag #wudart in any photos they capture of
the Student Art Show.&nbsp\; We also ask visitors to wear masks and pract
ice social distancing in our galleries and beyond.&nbsp\; The 93rd Annual
Student Art Show will be on display from April 7th to May 7th\, 2021.&nbsp

DESCRIPTION:Wisconsin Union Theater. Through its sensational interpretation
 s of modern classics\, innovative multi-genre original productions\, and
“exhilarating blend of precision and anarchy\, rigor and bedlam\,” ( T
he New Yorker )\, Sō Percussion has redefined the scope and role of the
modern percussion ensemble\, placing it at the leading edge of 21st-centu
ry music. Sō has recorded more than 20 other albums\; appeared at Carnegi
 e Hall\, Lincoln Center\, Walt Disney Hall\, the Barbican\, the Eaux Clair
 es Festival\, MassMoCA\, and TED 2016\; and performed with Jad Abumrad\, J
ACK Quartet\, the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra\, and the LA Phil and G
ustavo Dudamel\, among others. "Through a mix of consummate skill and quir
ky charm\, this mercurial quartet has helped to ignite an explosive new en
thusiasm for percussion music old and new." - New York Times Sō’s repe
rtoire ranges from 20th century works by John Cage\, Steve Reich\, and Ian
nis Xenakis\, et al\, to commissioning and advocating works by contemporar
y composers such as David Lang\, Julia Wolfe\, Steven Mackey\, and Carolin
e Shaw\, to distinctively modern collaborations with artists who work outs
ide the classical concert hall\, including Shara Nova\, choreographer Susa
n Marshall\, The National\, Bryce Dessner\, and many others. Sō Percussio
n’s original productions employ a distinctively 21st century palette of
original music\, artistic collaboration\, theatrical production values and
visual art\, yielding powerful explorations of the human experience. This
performance will include a special project with Caroline Shaw . Learn mo
