DESCRIPTION:Overview The Wilderness First Responder Recertification (WFR-Re
 cert) course is a three-day 24-hour long course taught by NOLS  Wilderness
  Medicine . The WFR-Recert course is designed to update and recertify your
  skills in making critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote loca
 tions. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic s
 cenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning
 . Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regar
 dless of weather conditions. Come prepared for wet\, muddy\, cold\, or hot
  environments. Prerequisites Hold a current Wilderness First Responder Cer
 tification or be in your certification's grace period. You must be 16 year
 s old to attend this course. Certification&nbsp\; Participants are require
 d to pass both written and practical examinations to obtain WFR and CPR re
 certification. Successful course completion earns you a NOLS Wilderness Me
 dicine Wilderness First Responder and&nbsp\; Adult &amp\; Child CPR certif
 ication . EMTs are eligible for 18 hours of continuing education (CEUs). A
 ll certifications are current for two years. &nbsp\; Location The primary 
 course classroom will be in Memorial Union on the UW-Madison Campus (800 L
 angdon Street). We are not able to offer housing or camping for this cours
 e. There are hotels and hostels available nearby. Food is not provided but
  is available for purchase in the building and at nearby locations to Memo
 rial Union. There is a refrigerator and microwave to chill and warm food.
