Description
Herr Biedermann and his wife live in a city that is being terrorized by arsonists. Biedermann thinks of himself as a good person and hopes that none of this will affect him as long as he gets along with people. How, then, do two arsonists manage to take up residence in his home and stack up barrels of gasoline in his attic? Frisch’s entertaining play asks provocative questions about trust and complicity, courage and willful blindness. No reservations needed. We recommend arriving by 7:20 pm.Some knowledge of German is useful. A detailed synopsis in English will be provided. For more information, contact Professor Sabine Gross (sgross@wisc.edu, 608-246-9937).Presented with generous support from the Anonymous Fund; the Department of German, Nordic and Slavic; and the Brittingham Foundation.
