Vocal ensemble Cantus explores the struggle of humans and communities to find meaningful connection in our increasingly digital world in Alone Together . Alone Together is an introspective narrative on the struggle of humans and communities to find meaningful connection in our increasingly digital world. Vocal ensemble Cantus explores these challenges through pairing selected works of Beethoven and Bernstein with contemporary composers Jennifer Higdon, David Lang and Gabriel Kahane, as well as arrangements of music by Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles and Dave Matthews. Alone Together also features a brand new, multi-movement work by Libby Larsen. Before the performance, be sure to catch a lecture and presentation by Anthony Cao at 6pm. Check the TITU screen when you arrive for room location. Anthony is a musician and educator who has received a Master's degree in music education from UW-Madison and was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship to supervise undergraduate music education majors and develop culturally relevant curriculum for the high school music classroom. In addition to teaching four curricular choirs and two general music classes at Madison West High School, Anthony stays active as the Chorus Master for Madison Opera and regularly performs as the pianist/vocalist at The Ivory Room in Madison.    Program
