An Evening with Sonia Nazario

Sonia Nazario is an award-winning journalist whose stories have tackled some of the most intractable problems in the U.S. – hunger, drug addiction, and immigration. She is best known for her national bestseller, Enrique’s Journey, the story of a Honduran boy’s struggle to find his mother in the U.S. She has been awarded for her advocacy for Latinos in the U.S., including efforts to increase Latinos’ enrollment in college and connect unaccompanied migrant children with attorneys. She has received two Pulitzer prizes for her work and been named one of the “40 women who changed the media business in the past 40” by Columbia Journalism Review. This LatinX Heritage Month Event is brought to you by WUD Distinguished Lecture Series and the Multicultural Student Center's Social Justice Program.  Please join WUD DLS for An Evening with Sonia Nazario on Tuesday, October 2, 7:00 p.m. The doors of AT&T Lounge on the 1st floor of the Pyle Center will open at 6:30 p.m. The lecture is open and FREE to both students and the public, and will end with a 30-minute Q&A.  Sign Language interpreting will be provided with CART captioning available upon request.
