DESCRIPTION:Hydraulics of Urban Floods and Ecohydrology of the Amazon Rainf
orest. Flooding due to heavy precipitation is the most impactful natural h
azard of all weather-related events. Using developments in uncertainty qua
ntification\, we address the effects of environment complexity on propagat
ion of flood waves in urbanized landscapes and explore whether real-time f
orecasting at “human action” scale is feasible. We also discuss recent
droughts in the Amazon that highlight rainforest vulnerability. Using tre
e-scale observations from central and eastern Amazonia\, we present..\n\nC
