  Ruby Bridges will speak at Shannon Hall in Memorial Union on April 8th at
  7 p.m. on equality\, education\, and community as part of the Wisconsin U
 nion Directorate (WUD) Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) Committee's free
  lecture lineup\, in collaboration with WUD Society and Politics. The even
 t\, titled “A Fireside Chat With Ruby Bridges\, will feature a 60-minute
  moderated Q&amp\;A followed by a 30-minute audience Q&amp\;A.&nbsp\; Brid
 ges is the author of several books reflecting on her experiences and encou
 raging civic engagement\, including Through My Eyes\, This Is Your Time\, 
 I Am Ruby Bridges\, Dear Ruby\, Hear Our Hearts\, and her most recent rele
 ase\, A Talk My Teacher\, published in January 2025. &nbsp\;Ruby Bridges i
 s the recipient of the AACP Martin Luther King Award\, the Presidential Ci
 tizens Medal\, and honorary doctorate degrees from Connecticut College\, C
 ollege of New Rochelle\, Teachers College\, Columbia University\, and Tula
 ne University. She was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 
 March 2024. The use of any recording devices during the event\, including
